Tomorrow there’s a full moon at 5:24 PM—the kind known as a micromoon. And in May, there are actually two full moons, on the 1st and the 31st. This particular moon is at its farthest point from Earth in its orbit, which makes it appear smaller and a bit softer in its expression. On top of that, it’s in the sign of Scorpio—and it’s May 1st. But there’s more: it’s also Beltane, an ancient Celtic festival celebrating life in its most creative form—love, passion, fertility, pleasure, and creative force.
In that, we can interpret a kind of wholeness: the closure of the full moon and the beginning of Beltane—the insights from the full moon and the desire from Beltane. Letting go through the full moon, and creating through Beltane.
Do you think that’s cool? A little magical?
Many people do. I feel like Instagram is overflowing with notifications saying it’s time to open this portal—one that will close on the 31st, in the sign of Sagittarius.
I want to think it’s cool and magical, but my pragmatic side has a few questions. Why is it magical? What is it based on? Ancient culture, yes—but who created these ideas about the moon and its phases? Could it be a kind of programming that “everyone” experiences as magical, and therefore collectively creates that magic?
I do think the full moon is beautiful. But when I let go of the magical thinking and stopped carrying all my decks and crystals out into the moonlight, I lost some of that magic. The full moon doesn’t really affect me—I’m in the same mood, and I sleep like a log. But for some, it’s incredibly magical—and if it is, then it should be.
Maybe it’s time for you to step into your own portal of self-awareness. To use Scorpio’s mysterious power, the drama, and release what you no longer need—the things that create unnecessary intensity—and begin to find peace within yourself. So that by the 31st, when the moon has completed its cycle, you carry new insights shaped by Sagittarius energy.
As for me, I’ll think about it… and knowing myself, I probably won’t reflect much further, unfortunately.
Today is Walpurgis Night in Sweden, which isn’t celebrated here in Spain—but May 1st is a public holiday.
Today I’m blogging, recording videos—and hold on to your hat, because I’ve now started The Tarot Masterclass (in Swedish to be translated), based on my first distance-learning material (which is more than thorough). This will become a self-study course with lots of videos—for all the cards and everything else. It’s also a comprehensive course covering all aspects of Tarot: astrology, love, past lives, the law of attraction, health, the Celtic Cross, and other spreads. I’ve probably forgotten something.
In my mind, this will be the most complete Tarot education for personal use and for becoming a Tarot Master. It’s almost like taking the course myself again. Quite fascinating, and honestly, I’m impressed by all the material I’ve created. Holy shit! I’ve written so much about Tarot, in every direction. Tarot isn’t just 78 cards for predicting the future—it’s a path of personal spiritual development, with the cards as a book you can open to read what has been, what is, and what may come—connected to every part of life.
Now I’m going to continue recording videos, listening to the birds, and the washing machine (romantic, right?). The house is clean, the sun is shining—a completely ordinary Thursday in Spain and probably also tomorrow for me, even if its fullmoon.
