This year we’re finally putting in pavers and a fire pit in our tiny backyard, and yes, I am wildly over-excited about it. Apparently this is what thrills me now. Who knew.
I even fed AI a picture of my backyard complete with lawn, flowers, and pond and said, “Remove the grass. Give me pavers. Add a fire pit.” Like a proper witch outsourcing vision work. And honestly? I love how the pit turned out.
We don’t have a big yard, but I treat every inch like sacred ground. If there’s space, something will grow there. Grass doesn’t stand a chance in my presence.
The greenhouse is tucked along the side of the house, the pond has goldfish living their best, completely unbothered lives, and soon there will be a fire pit for evening witchy plotting, smoking a joint now and then, and staring into the flames like I’ve unlocked ancient knowledge I absolutely refuse to explain.
Last year I was completely laid up with a total knee replacement. Seven months later, I’m doing great and officially back to getting my hands in the dirt where they belong.
Nothing feels better than soil under your nails and plans in your head. Spring can hurry up. I’ve got gardening to do and a fire pit to sit by.
