I have heard that rolling and brushing will last longer than spraying the exterior of a home. Last year I bought a graco magnum x5 airless sprayer to solid stain a large fence. I back brushed. I recently tried to use it on Masonite siding. I sprayed and back rolled the primer and then decided that I would be faster just rolling and brush the paint. My next job is a home with hardy board siding that is less than 15 years old. No peeling paint or damage, just faded. I’m basically intimidated by the process. I have rolled and brushed many homes over the past 5 years and I’m confident those jobs will last.
