Menstrual Monday - Feeling emotional around your bleed
I was speaking to a woman the other day about her teenage daughter and how she feels sad right before her period.
And honestly… this is something so many of us experience.
Sadness, emotions, sensitivity... they can absolutely come with menstruation.
Right before your bleed:
  • Progesterone (your calming hormone) is declining
  • Estrogen (your feel-good hormone) is also dropping
And during menstruation, both are at their lowest.
Which means…
You might feel more emotional, more sensitive or even a little sad for no clear reason
I know for me, I get a day or two where I just feel… sad. For real reason. It just comes and goes.
But here’s the reframe:
This phase isn’t something to push through.
It’s actually an invitation to:
  • Slow down
  • Rest
  • Turn inward
Because this is also when we are most intuitive.
What emotions do you notice around your bleed?
