First Saturday Talks is happening in 7 days
Hey everyone!
I am Wenhao! You guys can also call me Ethan! I am a 16 year old aspired entrepreneur destined for freedom and I am into the creative industry! I like making things with my creativity but I wouldn't say I'm an expert! I hope to connect with you all and share ideas to grow together! Nice to meet you all!
Trying Something Out
I got some procreate brushes that have some face/body guides, hair/face part detail stamps, and soooo many textures. Decided to try my hand at drawing a character that’s been in my head for a long time. Felt like cheating but I feel like it was nice to be able to quickly achieve something that vaguely looks like what I want with the assistance. It really helped me to not toss in the towel five minutes in. The face guide was female. How did I do making it more masculine? Now that I have this basic outline down I’ll try drawing on top of it later with more detail. He is missing his freckles badly! Also the care bear stare is a bit uncomfy. I think I’ll wait to be in a more comfortable physical position though. You would think that a chemo infusion place would have more comfortable seats for the supporting person but JEEEESUS. I think a high school cafeteria chair would have actually been more comfortable.

Pixel art at 1 am
Creativity really hits at the weirdest time! These are still rough drafts but I wanted to draw something. I had drawn the first one which I planned to be a robotic cat but got an interesting rat creature thing. The 2nd one I drew pretty fast early in the morning more similar to what I was thinking. I want to animate these or add them to a background that will be animated too! I drew these on an app called pixel art and hope to play around with it more! Which one do you all like better? Surprisingly, my husband likes the creature better and not the cat 😂

From Old To New
Recently recovered an old external hard drive and uncovered a treasure trove of forgotten projects—fragments of creativity left behind by time. Looking through them, I realized something powerful: just because a piece is from your past doesn’t mean it’s lost its value. These old works still hold sparks of inspiration—seeds of ideas waiting to grow. So, I’ve decided to breathe new life into them. I’m reworking these forgotten pieces, honoring where they came from, but elevating them with everything I’ve learned since. As artists, we’re always evolving. Don’t be afraid to revisit your past—there’s gold in those early ideas. Bring them into the present and create with the skills you’ve built today.

Practice with Digital Art
I’m adding some practice from a reference I liked from about a year ago. The reference is from an art book I bought called Fashion Illustration Book: The Art of Tanaka. I bought this tablet around the same time because I wanted to get into digital art and learn how layers work! After I practiced more using paper and pen this was my next step to try! I think it turned out pretty well but will try to practice more! Hope you all enjoy!
