About me and how I can help
Hi! I’m Teresa — Irish, living in Spain — and I’m the person behind The Writing & Editing Studio. For work, I’m a writer, editor, and English tutor. For fun, I’m a reader, snacker, coffee drinker, crocheter, and very proud dog-mama (and servant of a very bossy cat). I help people turn rough drafts into confident, polished writing — especially writers creating in English as an additional language. I’m a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (UK) and I have an Honours BA in Creative Writing & Literature. Over the past 30+ years, I’ve supported English learners, memoirists, fiction and non-fiction writers, and academics/professionals preparing papers, presentations, and publications in English. I’ve also ghost-written memoirs, co-edited a literary journal, and had essays, letters, and short stories published. What you can ask me for (any time) 🔸A calm second pair of eyes on clarity, flow, and wording 🔸Self-editing help (what to fix first, what to leave alone) 🔸Structure and storytelling (or structure and argument, for non-fiction) 🔸Grammar and punctuation, explained simply 🔸How to work with an editor and get the best value 🔸Motivation, routines, and getting to ‘done’ If you’re new, start with the Start Here post and introduce yourself — I’d love to know what you’re writing.

About me and how I can help
WEDNESDAY 8th April — Gentle writing prompt ✍️
Today’s prompt is a simple one: Write about something you have been meaning to return to. It could be: ✴️a piece of writing ✴️a habit ✴️a project ✴️a conversation ✴️a place ✴️a version of yourself Don’t worry about making it polished. Just write for 10 minutes and see what comes. You do not need to share the whole thing, but if you’d like to, post a line or two below 💛 #WritingPrompt #PromptAndShare #WritingCommunity #AmWriting #WritersSupport #BackToWriting #GentleWriting #SmallStepsStillCount #WritingLife #CreativePractice

TUESDAY 7th April — Tiny steps still count ✏️
When life feels full, editing can start to feel impossible — especially if we think we need a big block of time, loads of energy, and perfect concentration. But often, the best way back in is not to do more. It is to make the task smaller. Instead of saying: 'I need to edit this whole piece.' try: 🔸 I’ll reread one paragraph 🔸 I’ll cut one clumsy sentence 🔸 I’ll check for repeated words 🔸 I’ll improve just the opening 🔸 I’ll spend 10 minutes with the document Small steps count because they keep us connected to the work. ✳️ What is one tiny writing or editing task you could do today? #EditingTipTuesday #SelfEditing #SmallStepsStillCount #WritingCommunity #WritingLife #WritersSupport #ProgressNotPerfection
