Do you have the heart of a poet?
Have you ever been mellow? Have you ever tried, to feel the poet that's inside you? Olivia Newton-John sang something similar to these words but she used "Have you never." and she was not talking about poetry. She was however being rather poetic when she sang the words. Many songs are poetic and evoke feeling the way poetry does. If you are a poet, I am sure you would agree with me when I say that our feelings are what inspire us to poetic prose. If you have never written a poem, I encourage you to try. You don't have to post it here, unless you want. If you are a poet, please share your thoughts on inspiration. Thanks. Here is a short one that I wrote; I hope you like it.
Contradictorary Contradictation
Water, water everywhere and not a drop to spill.
I bought a purple kangaroo and put it on my sill.
Now if you don't believe me, I tell you it's too late,
For I got very hungry and the poor thing I did ate.
