What is Ovomancy?
Ovomancy is often misunderstood as only a diagnostic or divination practice, but in reality it works so well for spells because of the nature of the egg itself. The egg is not passive. It is an active magical vessel.
Ovomancy is also a form of divination and spiritual diagnosis using an egg, most commonly a raw chicken egg. The egg is believed to absorb, reveal, and reflect spiritual conditions such as energetic blockages, crossed conditions, mal de ojo (evil eye), attachments, emotional heaviness, or outside interference.
Why eggs?
The egg is a liminal object. It represents life, death, rebirth, containment, and potential. Spiritually, it acts as a vessel that can both absorb and reveal.
