💬 WELCOME TO THE UNHACKABLE NURSE COMMUNITY
This is a safe space for nurses to learn, share, grow, and protect themselves—without judgment, without spam, without drama.
These guidelines exist to protect YOU and this community.
Read them before posting. Follow them always. Report violations when you see them.
Let's build something stronger together. 🛡️
🎯 OUR COMMUNITY VALUES
Before we get to the rules, here's what we stand for:
1. Safety First
Your digital security matters. Your nursing license matters. Your peace of mind matters. We prioritize protection over everything.
2. No Judgment
We've ALL made security mistakes. Reused passwords. Clicked suspicious links. Posted questionable content. There's no shame here—only support.
3. Real Solutions, Not Fear
We don't panic. We don't shame. We solve problems with expert-backed strategies and community accountability.
4. Nurses Supporting Nurses
This isn't a corporate webinar. It's a community of healthcare workers who GET IT. We speak your language. We understand your schedule. We've been where you are.
5. Progress Over Perfection
You don't need to be a tech expert. You don't need to have everything figured out. You just need to show up and take ONE step forward. That's enough.
✅ COMMUNITY GUIDELINES (The Rules)
1️⃣ BE RESPECTFUL (Always)
What This Means:
✅ Treat everyone with kindness (even if you disagree)
✅ Assume good intentions (people are here to learn, not to attack)
✅ Disagree without being disagreeable (you can challenge ideas without attacking people)
✅ Support, don't shame (someone admits they reused passwords? Say "Let's fix that" not "How could you be so stupid?")
What's NOT Okay:
❌ Personal attacks ("You're an idiot," "Why are you even here?")
❌ Trolling (deliberately provocative comments meant to start fights)
❌ Dismissive responses ("Just Google it," "This is common sense," "Figure it out yourself")
❌ Sarcasm that hurts (friendly teasing is fine—meanness disguised as humor is not)
Example of Respectful Disagreement:
GOOD:
"I see your point about SMS 2FA, but I've read that authenticator apps are more secure because SMS can be intercepted. Here's a link: [source]. What do you think?"
BAD:
"SMS 2FA? Are you serious? That's literally the worst advice. Do some research before posting."
2️⃣ NO SPAM OR SELF-PROMOTION (Without Permission)
What This Means:
❌ No unsolicited links to your products/services (courses, coaching, affiliate links)
❌ No "DM me for more info" pitches (if you're selling something, ask first)
❌ No dropping links in every post (even if it's "helpful"—context matters)
❌ No recruiting for MLMs, side hustles, or unrelated businesses (this isn't a marketplace)
What IS Okay:
✅ Genuine recommendations ("I use Proton Pass and love it" = fine if contextually relevant)
✅ Answering direct questions ("What VPN do you use?" → "I use [X], here's why" = fine)
✅ Ashley's official products (this is HER community—she can promote Vault, Cohort, etc.)
What If You WANT to Share Something?
ASK FIRST. DM Ashley with:
- What you want to share (product, service, blog post, video)
- Why it's relevant to this community (how does it help nurses stay secure?)
- What you're asking for (feedback? promotion? partnership?)
If it's genuinely valuable and not spammy, I'll usually say yes. But ask BEFORE posting.
Examples:
SPAM (Will Be Removed):
"Hey nurses! I just launched a course on financial freedom for healthcare workers. DM me for the link! 💰"
OKAY (Contextually Relevant):
[In a thread about password managers]
"I wrote a blog post comparing Proton Pass vs. 1Password for nurses—happy to share if it's helpful. Let me know!"
ALSO OKAY (Genuine Recommendation):
"For anyone asking about VPNs, I've been using Proton VPN for 6 months and it's been solid. No affiliation, just sharing what works for me."
3️⃣ PROTECT PATIENT PRIVACY (HIPAA Compliance is NON-NEGOTIABLE)
What This Means:
❌ Never share patient names, faces, or identifying info (even if you think it's "anonymized")
❌ Never mention facility names in negative contexts ("My hospital sucks at security" = complaint to HR, not Skool)
❌ Never post photos/videos from patient care areas (break room = okay, patient room = NO)
❌ Never share case details that could identify a patient (age + diagnosis + location = too specific)
What IS Okay:
✅ Vague, generalized lessons ("I once had a patient teach me X"—no age, no date, no identifiers)
✅ Hypothetical scenarios ("What if a patient's family saw my Instagram Story?")
✅ Personal experiences ("I feel stressed after tough shifts"—about YOU, not the patient)
If You're Unsure:
Use the "Can I Post This?" Decision Tree (download in 💉 HIPAA & COMPLIANCE category).
Still unsure? Post in 💉 HIPAA & COMPLIANCE and ask BEFORE sharing publicly.
Real Example of a Violation (DON'T DO THIS):
"Just discharged a 34-year-old mom of twins after her stroke. So proud of her progress! 🎉"
Why this is a violation:
- Age (34)
- Family details (twins)
- Diagnosis (stroke)
- Timeframe (today, implied)
Even without a name or photo, someone could identify this patient.
Better Version:
"Had a patient today who taught me the power of resilience. Grateful to witness her progress. 💙"
Why this is okay:
- No age, diagnosis, or identifying details
- Vague timeframe ("today" is fine, but "Monday at 2pm" would be too specific)
- Focus on YOUR feelings, not their identity
4️⃣ NO HARASSMENT, HATE SPEECH, OR DISCRIMINATION
What this Means:
❌ No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any form of bigotry
❌ No harassment (following someone around the community to attack them)
❌ No doxxing (sharing someone's personal info without consent—address, phone, employer)
❌ No threats (physical, professional, legal—none of it)
This is a zero-tolerance rule. Violations result in immediate removal from the community.
5️⃣ STAY ON TOPIC (This is a Cybersecurity Community)
What We Talk About Here:
✅ Cybersecurity (passwords, 2FA, phishing, breach recovery)
✅ HIPAA compliance (social media safety, patient privacy)
✅ Digital protection (device security, VPNs, email safety)
✅ Nursing-specific threats (license protection, DEA numbers, professional reputation)
✅ Accountability & wins (celebrating progress, troubleshooting blocks)
What Belongs Elsewhere:
⭕ General nursing discussions (shift drama, difficult patients, clinical questions)
⭕ Political debates (unless directly related to healthcare cybersecurity laws)
⭕ Personal medical advice (we're not diagnosing or treating here)
⭕ Totally off-topic stuff (recipes, workout routines, relationship advice)
Gray Area? Ask Yourself:
"Does this relate to keeping nurses digitally safe, HIPAA-compliant, or Unhackable?"
If YES: Post away.
If NO: Save it for another community.
Examples:
ON TOPIC:
- "I think my work email was hacked. What do I do?"
- "Can I post a photo of my stethoscope if there's a blurred patient room in the background?"
- "I attended First Monday Ritual and migrated 15 passwords—win!"
OFF TOPIC:
- "What's the best compression socks for 12-hour shifts?" (nursing, but not cybersecurity)
- "Anyone else frustrated with staffing ratios?" (valid concern, wrong community)
- "Drop your favorite post-shift meal ideas!" (fun, but irrelevant)
6️⃣ GIVE CREDIT WHERE DUE
What This Means:
✅ If you share someone else's content, tag them (screenshot from Instagram? Tag the creator)
✅ If you learned something from a member, acknowledge them ("Thanks to @SarahJ for this tip!")
✅ If you quote an article/expert, link to the source (don't plagiarize)
Why This Matters:
- Builds trust (shows you're honest, not stealing ideas)
- Supports creators (they deserve recognition)
- Strengthens community (gratitude creates connection)
7️⃣ ASK QUESTIONS (There Are NO "Dumb" Questions Here)
What This Means:
✅ If you're confused, ask (we've all been beginners)
✅ If you need help, post (don't suffer in silence)
✅ If you're stuck, troubleshoot here (that's what the community is for)
How to Ask Good Questions:
Instead of:
"Help! I'm hacked!"
Try:
"I think my Instagram was hacked. Here's what happened: [details]. I've already [actions taken]. What should I do next?"
Why the second version is better:
- Context (what happened)
- Actions taken (shows you tried something)
- Specific ask (what's the next step)
Result: You get better, faster help.
8️⃣ SEARCH BEFORE POSTING (Your Question Might Already Be Answered)
Before Posting "Can I post X?":
1. Check the 💉 HIPAA & COMPLIANCE category
2. Download the "Can I Post This?" Decision Tree
3. Search Skool for keywords (use the search bar at top)
If you still can't find the answer:** Post your question. We're here to help.
Why this matters: Reduces duplicate threads, keeps the community organized, helps you get answers faster.
9️⃣ CELEBRATE WINS (Yours AND Others')
What This Means:
✅ Post your wins in 🎉 WINS & ACCOUNTABILITY (every Wednesday, or anytime)
✅ Comment on others' wins (celebrate their progress—it takes 10 seconds)
✅ Upvote posts that help you (engagement = community growth)
Why This Matters:
- Positive reinforcement = habit formation
- Community recognition = accountability
- Celebrating others = you'll feel celebrated too
Remember: Every win counts. Changed one password? That's a win. Post it.
🚨 HOW TO REPORT VIOLATIONS
If You See Something That Violates These Guidelines:
Option 1: Use Skool's Report Feature
1. Click the 3-dot menu (⋯) on the post/comment
2. Select "Report"
3. Choose reason (spam, harassment, off-topic, etc.)
4. Submit
Skool sends the report to me (Ashley) immediately.
Option 2: DM Ashley Directly
If it's urgent (harassment, doxxing, serious HIPAA violation), DM me with:
- Link to the post/comment
- Why you're reporting it
- Any additional context
I respond to reports within 24 hours (usually faster).
What Happens After You Report:
1. I review the report (within 24 hours)
2. I assess the violation (minor = warning, major = removal)
3. I take action:
- First offense: Warning (private message explaining the issue)
- Second offense: 7-day suspension (temporary ban)
- Third offense OR serious violation: Permanent removal from community
Serious Violations = Immediate Removal (No Warnings):
- Harassment, threats, doxxing
- Sharing patient-identifiable information (HIPAA violation)
- Hate speech, bigotry, discrimination
- Repeated spam after being warned
I don't take removals lightly—but I will protect this community.
❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Can I promote my nursing side hustle here?
A: Not without asking first. DM Nurse Ashley with details. If it's genuinely valuable (and not spammy), she'll usually say yes.
Q: What if I accidentally violate a guideline?
A: You'll get a private warning explaining what happened and how to fix it. First-time mistakes happen—no judgment. Just don't repeat it.
Q: Can I post about non-cybersecurity nursing topics?
A: In 💬 GENERAL DISCUSSION, yes—but keep it occasional and relevant. Example: "Anyone else feel overwhelmed by digital security AND everything else nursing throws at us?" = okay. "Let's talk about IV insertion techniques" = wrong community.
Q: What if someone is giving BAD security advice?
A: Reply respectfully with correct information (cite sources if possible). If they argue or keep spreading misinformation, report it. Nurse Ashley will step in.
Q: Can I share my own blog post/YouTube video if it's about cybersecurity for nurses?
A: ASK FIRST. DM Nurse Ashley with the link + a summary. If it's high-quality and not promotional spam, she'll likely approve it.
Q: What if I see a HIPAA violation in someone's post?
A: Report it immediately. HIPAA violations put the poster (and potentially this community) at legal risk. I'll review and remove if necessary—then help the person understand what went wrong.
Q: Can I ask for help with a non-security problem (like resume review or job search)?
A: Occasionally in 💬 GENERAL DISCUSSION, yes. But this isn't a career coaching community. Keep the primary focus on cybersecurity.
Q: What if I disagree with a guideline?
A: DM Nurse Ashley with your concern. I'm open to feedback and will adjust guidelines if they're not serving the community. But I won't compromise on safety, respect, or HIPAA compliance.
💬 GENERAL DISCUSSION: WHAT TO POST HERE
This category is for:
✅ Questions that don't fit other categories (cybersecurity-adjacent topics)
✅ Community suggestions ("Can we add a category for X?")
✅ Feedback for Nurse Ashley ("I'd love to see more content on Y")
✅ Casual check-ins ("Anyone else feel like they need a digital detox?")
✅ Announcements (Nurse Ashley will post community updates here)
✅ Meta discussions ("How do we grow this community?")
Think of this as the "everything else" category—but still loosely related to our mission: keeping nurses Unhackable.
🛡️ FINAL THOUGHTS: WHY THESE RULES EXIST
These guidelines aren't about control—they're about PROTECTION.
We're protecting:
- Your safety (no doxxing, harassment, or threats)
- Your license (HIPAA compliance is life-or-death for nurses)
- Your time (no spam means you only see valuable content)
- Your trust (respectful community = safe space to be vulnerable)
When everyone follows these rules, we ALL win.
You get expert advice. You get peer support. You get accountability. You get a judgment-free space to learn and grow.
That's the Unhackable Nurse community promise.
