If you’re reading this, you’re probably looking for a bit of hope, a bit of grit, or maybe just a reminder that you aren’t alone in the dark. My name is Shelwin Lal, and for the last seven years, my life hasn't looked anything like I thought it would. Seven years ago, everything changed. A spine injury didn’t just take away my mobility or my comfort it tried to take away my identity. When you’ve lived with chronic pain for nearly a decade, the physical side of it is actually only half the battle. The real war happens in your head.
If you’re struggling right now, I want you to hear me. Your family doesn't need a "perfect" version of you. They need you. They need the guy who refuses to give up. They need the guy who can look at a life-altering injury and say, "You can take my mobility, but you can’t take my spirit."
