There are plenty of recovery aides and tools out there from cold plunge to sauna to soft tissue massage to sleep.
Some have evidence that a change is happening at the physiological level and others may simply be effective because it causes the body to slow down.
Either way, the body needs time to recover and rebuild itself. Otherwise that’s when injury tends to set in and the body doesn’t work the way we would like.
