Yeah , I am that guy from the video. That video was why I am a member. I have been here almost since the beginning. Not as polished as it is now. Not a surveyor, no desire to add initials after my name again. I am a drone guy that works with surveyors and engineers, at I least I do today. Back when I showed up I was “just a guy with a drone and an Emlid, trying to do better. Not much has changed, I am still trying to do better, just with a couple more drones and a couple more Emlids. 🚝

It’s hard to imagine getting into a career in surveying, with no formal training, without this resource. Having a place to ask questions (sometimes obvious but necessary to learn), discuss projects/issues/general ideas, and be part of a community of like minded individuals who genuinely care about the subject and helping others succeed, is truly priceless.

Rami’s mission pretty much nails why I’m here: “Collect data surveyors trust...and become the person other people call when the data has to be right.” That’s the journey we’re on with CoveGEO. Survey School is a place to learn from people who measure things for a living, ask dumb questions, get corrected, test things in the field, help others when you can, and earn your stripes with surveyors. I’m a hell of a lot better at this than I was a year ago. Great place for a lifelong learner.

I have be a part of the survey school for several months now and it has increased my knowledge exponentially. Not only is it a great resource for education, help with troubleshooting field issues, but the greatest value is the people. This is an amazing group that has vast experience in multiple areas as well as just being amazing people from around the globe. The Survey School is not stagnant and there are always new lecture series, speakers, and opportunities to grow in the survey profession.
