If you've ever been to Spain, you've probably seen it on almost every café menu.
Fresh bread, some grated or scrubbed ripe tomato, a touch of garlic, a drizzle of good quality extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of sea salt.
That's it.
No fancy ingredients.
No complicated recipes.
No expensive "superfoods."Just simple, fresh food that's been enjoyed for generations.
What I love most is that it reminds me healthy eating doesn't have to be perfect. It can be delicious, satisfying and full of flavour. If I want to make it a little more filling, I'll often add:
🥚 Eggs for protein
🧀 A little manchego cheese
🍖 A slice of jamón serrano, chorizo or salchicha
🥑 Or some avocado for healthy fats.
It's a breakfast that fuels a morning of exploring villages, wandering markets or enjoying a long walk by the sea.
Sometimes the Spanish way isn't about eating less...
It's about eating real food and taking the time to enjoy it.

❤️💛❤️ Little "Fit for Spain" tip 🇪🇸
If you're aiming to stay strong as you get older, try pairing your pan con tomate with a good source of protein. It helps keep you fuller for longer and supports maintaining muscle—one of the best investments you can make for staying active and independent.
It's not about giving up the bread. It's about building a breakfast that helps you keep saying "yes" to the life you love.
