Welcome to The Small Business Spellbook!
Hi friends! I’m Jamie, and I created this space for entrepreneurs who believe business can be both strategic and magical. Here, we’ll mix metrics with mindset, systems with spells, and turn everyday actions into extraordinary results. ✨ Share your wins, ask questions, and connect with other small‑business sorcerers who are building something powerful. Let’s make business growth feel like magic. 💼🔮 Take a moment to introduce yourself and share a pic of your workspace or business.
🪄 If You Could Fix ONE Thing…
If I gave you a magic wand today and you could instantly fix ONE thing in your business, what would it be? More people finding you? More of those people actually buying? More repeat customers? Better organization behind the scenes? More profit? More time? Or something completely different? What are you choosing if you only get one?
✨ Sometimes You Have to Stop and Look Around
Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me why we do all of this. Labor Daze has two stages so we can keep the music going throughout the day. Last night, while Nerds Gone Wild headlined on one, the other was empty. So my husband and I climbed up, sat down and watched the show from there. And for a little while, I wasn’t checking on volunteers, solving a problem, answering a question or thinking about what needed to happen next. I just looked out at all those people enjoying something we’d spent months creating. Then we capped off the night with fireworks. 🎆 When you’re the person building something, it’s really easy to spend all your time looking for the next problem to solve or the next thing that needs to be done. Sometimes you need to stop long enough to actually see what you built. Whether it’s a business, a project, a community or something else entirely, I’m curious: When was the last time you stopped working on it long enough to appreciate how far you’ve come?
✨ Sometimes You Have to Stop and Look Around
🌙 The Night Before Labor Daze
Tomorrow morning, thousands of people will start arriving for Labor Daze. Tonight, it looks like this. The lights are on, tents are up, basket raffle is packed, and signs are hung. Months of planning are finally turning into an actual festival. I’ve helped lead this event for years, and the night before always gets me. By the time people arrive tomorrow, most of what went into making this happen will be invisible. They won’t see the meetings, spreadsheets, vendor emails, sponsor calls, volunteer schedules, permits, insurance, last-minute changes, problem solving or the hundreds of tiny decisions that got us here. They’ll just experience the result. And isn’t that a lot like running a business? Your customers rarely see everything happening behind the scenes. They see whether you were ready when they showed up. Tonight I’m tired, excited, probably forgetting something 😂, and incredibly proud of what our little team has built. Tomorrow, we open the gates. What’s something happening behind the scenes in YOUR business right now that your customers will probably never know about?
