When Do Your “Shoulds” Show Up?
Hey everyone - hope you're doing well. I'm thinking about the session we have next week, maybe you'd like to start pondering it too...?
If so - take a moment to notice those moments during your day when this might kick in. Do any of these sound familiar?
  • I should be doing more
  • I should know more by now
  • I should be further along
  • I should know better
  • I should be doing something else instead of this.
These thoughts often come with a critical voice—the part that believes pressure and self-judgement will keep you on track but in reality, it tends to create tension, procrastination, and a feeling of never quite being enough - and ultimately keeps us stuck.
Gently notice this week >
  • When do you notice this voice the most? (e.g., work, rest, growth, decision-making)
  • What triggers it? (comparison, deadlines, expectations, uncertainty)
  • How does it make you feel emotionally?
  • Where do you notice it in your body? (tight chest, heavy shoulders, knot in the stomach, shallow breathing)
  • What action does it lead to? (procrastination, overworking, avoidance, self-doubt)
There’s nothing to fix right now—just notice. Write it down if you like, or bring a moment of awareness to it. With no judgment, just allow it to be there.
Share below or bring your observations to the session, we’ll tap through them together.
Looking forward to seeing you all again!
