Hello! Welcome to the Reiki Room!
Hello and welcome to The Reiki Room! 🌿 I’m Laura Newberry-Yokley, your resident Reiki master teacher, and I’m so excited to invite you into this warm, intentional learning lounge—a space to receive reiki, learn the foundations, practice your skills, and connect with others in a supportive reiki circle. My intention for this space is to create a calm, nurturing environment where you can relax, grow, and deepen your energetic awareness. Whether you’re new to reiki or have been practicing for years, there’s a place for you here to explore, learn, and connect. I can’t wait to meet you all, share this journey, and see the magic that unfolds when we come together in a circle of healing. 💫 Feel free to introduce yourself, share your experience with reiki, or tell us what brought you here!
Our First New York City Reiki Room Meet Up
I am REMISS in sharing our first NYC Reiki Room Meet Up back in March of this year! It was wonderful to introduce two of my Master students to each other. Sahadeo Ramharrack and Curtis Gomes are both my master students, both live in NYC, but didn't know each other. We met on the upper west side for some delicious Indian food. So glad they were able to cross paths! My son, Roux Newberry-Yokley, age 12, has been attuned to Reiki II, he also shared in the festivities of going out for Caribbean food in Harlem. What a great experience! Looking forward to more meet ups. Where else should we to to have a Reiki meet up?

Our First Reiki Clinic
Hello Reiki Roomies! We just had our first Reiki Clinic this past weekend and it was awesome. It was great to welcome Benji from France, and Emily and John are both from Wooster and served as reiki clients so Benji could practice his Reiki hand and pendulum scanning techniques. One of the most meaningful aspects of our Reiki Clinic is that it is a space for learning, growth, and self-discovery. As people come together in a healing environment, unexpected experiences can sometimes arise. These moments can reveal important opportunities for reflection, deeper understanding, and openness to hold space for whatever may surface. I am grateful to each of you for your role in the experience and am appreciative of the opportunity to learn and growth with you. The next day, Benji and I surprised my Reiki Master, Elizabeth Crane, who is 94 years old, and we had a wonderful chat and tour of her new living space. Reiki's power comes from intention. It reveals where more clarity is needed, where healing might benefit, and holds us as we lean into any emotions that might arise. Healing is a collaborative experience and I am grateful for anything that might bring. Sending love, Laura

Setting Up & Tearing Down at APRIL Reiki Night
A Reiki session isn't just what happens when your client gets there. Your full set up and tear down are essential elements of your Reiki practice. I have taken the liberty of recording mine. It looks pretty ordinary, set up table, put on sheet, turn on music, and go. But what am I doing energetically to prepare the room, to prepare myself both as safe space to receive someone and all their wonderfulness? How am I increasing my opportunity to flow energetically, to move my own schtuff out of the way? And on the other side, how am I sealing off the space, adding gratitude, compassion, and love to the space?
