As family child care providers, we do so much more than serve meals and snacks. We help shape lifelong healthy habits. Every time we offer colorful fruits and vegetables, encourage children to try something new, or sit together for a positive mealtime experience, we are teaching valuable lessons about nutrition and wellness.
Children learn by watching the adults around them. When we model healthy eating, talk positively about food, and create a relaxed atmosphere at the table, we help children build a healthy relationship with food. Small changes and consistent exposure can make a big difference over time.
