Can I be honest about something?
The moms I've talked to who are the most successful with this business aren't the ones with the most experience or the best credentials. They're the ones who just kept going when it got uncomfortable. They sent the message even when they felt awkward. They took the discovery call even when they didn't feel ready. They said yes to the first client even though they weren't sure they could do it. The skill is learnable. The courage to start is the only real requirement. You do NOT need an LLC to get your first bookkeeping client.
I see people spend weeks setting up their business before they've talked to a single potential client. That's backwards. Here's the actual order that works: → Tell people what you do → Land your first client → Set up your LLC with the money they pay you The business exists to support the clients — not the other way around. Honest confession
I almost talked myself out of this business before it started. I had no clients, no guarantee it would work, and was homeschooling my daughter during the pandemic. What I did have was a laptop, an internet connection, and a desperate need for something to change. 45 days after starting Bookkeeper Launch I had two clients and $1,200 a month coming in.
