Do you have a Colour for Coffee Hour on Wednesday
Do you have a colour you would like to see paired with others that you could use in a project. If so, comment with a picture of it or a colour code and I will review it on the call Wednesday morning. I will review colour submissions up to the day before so I have time to prep for you.

Coffee Colour 1/2 hour - What is your colour?
I am going to try something for the Coffee 1/2 hour. So it has another purpose on top of getting to know each other. How it works 1. Share a ‘colour’ below this post 2. During the call I will share 1 or 4 colours that colour could go with The ‘colour’ could come from a piece of yarn, fabric, a paint, a garment etc that you just don’t know what to pair it with. I will record our calls and share them in the classroom. I should be able to do 2-3 per call and leave time for chat. It is good lead up to doing your Fabric formula. How does that sound?

Interesting results from the red cabbage dye workshop!
Here are pics of my results from yesterday, and also side-by-side shots from my first round of dyeing. The results are surprising! I'm excited to do more experiments! Since the baking soda gave more of a green, I'm going to try adding much less- starting with a teaspoon rather than a tablespoon next time. ;-D That might be the ticket to a cool blue. On the comparison pics, the first round of dyed silks are on the bottom, and the second round of dyed fabrics (1 silk, and 3 wool) are on top. The yellow tint of the wool warmed up the color quite a lot. And the shibori resist-dyed piece was quite a surprise! It looks orange instead of pink, and the stripes are blue instead of white (!) What a beautiful surprise~! Such a different result on the wool compared to the silk, using the exact same dye recipe.

Coffee Club tomorrow - then breaking for Easter
Tomorrow I will go live for an hour. Pop in and say hi. I will have coffee and a little leftover project to finish. No agenda but I can answer any questions. Then I will be taking a break from Coffee hour until after Easter School holidays. So I will be back for coffee on the 22nd. I will still be here each day just without the scheduled coffee calls.
