Intolerance assaulted our First Amendment yesterday. Charlie Kirk was murdered as he did what good people should do—debate openly, honestly, and passionately. He was known by all to be sincere, educated, spiritual, and a proud husband and father of two little girls. He was murdered live, in front of everyone, to intimidate and silence. The Enemy of Open Debate Their hate for truth, democracy, open debate, and freedom is not hidden. You see it daily in biased headlines, talking heads on TV, and even celebrities paid to parrot propaganda. We allowed them to speak because of free speech. We respected the law. We didn’t burn cities when we disagreed. But here’s the problem: we allowed it without countering it. We didn’t push back on lies.We didn’t fight slander with facts.Charlie did. And he paid with his life. A Turning Point Now the damage is clear. Hate, evil, and violence are no longer shadows. They are out in the open—incited by falsehoods and fueled by intolerance. We hoped for spirited debate. We wanted to live together in a world of shared respect. But we’ve been met with something else: rage, lies, and destruction. We—the good—have tolerated the intolerant. The Call to Act This is not a call to arms, violence, or hatred. Good people do not act that way. Evil and the deranged do. This is a call to voice.To stand.To push back against the intolerant. - Do not accept lies disguised as moral authority. - Do not allow speech to be silenced under the guise of “good manners.” - Do not let culture, spirit, or faith be erased just to appease those who despise them.
