We explored what happens when we donโt return to NOW.
Not for a moment
Not for a day
Not for a week
The mind stays busy
The thoughts keep moving
And the feeling of rushing slowly becomes normalโฆ
Not because life suddenly became more complicated.
But because we keep adding open loops to an already crowded mind. There is a beautiful quote that really stands out:
โYou do not need more time, you need fewer open loops in your life.โ
Because an open loop is anything unfinished:
A decision you havenโt made
An email you need to send
A conversation youโre avoiding
A task you keep postponing
A commitment you havenโt acted on
The interesting thing is that the mind doesnโt forget these things.
It keeps them active.
Quietly sitting in the background.
Pulling on your attention.
Consuming mental energy.
Creating that subtle feeling that thereโs always something else you should be thinking about.
And the more open loops we carryโฆ
the harder it becomes to settle into the present moment.
Not because NOW is difficult.
But because part of our attention is constantly being pulled somewhere else.
๐ฏ Today: Notice one thought that keeps returning throughout the day.
Ask yourself:
Is this asking for more thinking?
Or is it asking for action?
Sometimes the fastest way back to NOW is not another thought.
Itโs closing an open loop...
