October 1 Truth
It’s the start of a new Month. What do you want to be true by the end of the month? Want to finish a project at work? Want to tidy your closet? Say: At the end of the month I want it to be true that this project is finished and delivered to the client. At the end of the month I want it to be true that my closet is tidy and organized. Strategy: Once you know what you want to be true, work backwards to create the conditions (environment) so that it can happen. Start tiny! Start now! Reach out if you need help.

The Cost of Perfection
Nobody talks about the cost of waiting for the 'right moment.' You lose months. Sometimes years. Not to distraction, but to the very act of being careful and responsible and thorough. And meanwhile, your future self is standing somewhere just around the corner, a little impatient, wondering what's taking so long. She's not built from the moment you finally felt ready. She's built from the small, consistent choices you made while you were still figuring it out. The right moment was probably six months ago. The second right moment is right now. How to Choose a Career and Life Transition Coach After 45
Choosing a coach after 45 is about finding support that respects your experience, understands how work and identity connect, and gives you a practical way to move forward. I created this guide to help you evaluate a coach's training, ethics, process, and fit, especially if you are navigating a layoff, career change, leadership transition, or work that no longer fits. Read the guide here: [Add article URL] As you read, which matters most to you right now: clearer direction, support with your identity shift, or a structure for taking action?

Navigate a Career Crossroads When You're Sure What Comes Next
There is a point in many careers when the question is no longer, “How do I move up?” It becomes, “Do I still want the life this career is asking me to live?” You may have reached that point after a layoff, a leadership change, a caregiving season, or years of succeeding in work that no longer fits. You may know you want something different but have no clear picture of what “different” should be. That does not mean you have failed to plan. It means the person who made your earlier career decisions has grown, and your next decision needs to reflect who you are now. I know career disruption from both sides. I have experienced layoffs and reinvention myself, and I have spent more than 20 years helping adults learn, lead, and develop at work. What I have learned is that most people at a career crossroads do not need someone to hand them an answer. They need a way to hear themselves think, recognize the value in what they have already done, and move forward without waiting for perfect certainty. That is where career and life transition coaching can help. Why a Career Crossroads Can Feel So Personal A career change is rarely only about the work. For many midlife professionals, a job title has become connected to identity, stability, expertise, and belonging. When the role changes or ends, it can raise questions that a résumé cannot answer: - Who am I without this title? - What parts of my experience still matter? - Am I allowed to want something different now? - What if I make the wrong choice? - Is it too late to begin again? These are not signs that you lack ambition. They are signs that you are making a decision with real consequences for your income, time, relationships, and sense of self. A thoughtful coaching process makes room for both parts of the transition: the practical decisions in front of you and the identity shift happening underneath them. What a Career and Life Transition Coach Actually Does A coach should not choose your next career for you. You are the expert on your life.
