Want to learn about birds?
Hi, folks. I've been doing a lot of course development for Outschool and am wondering if anyone here would be interested in an all ages class about birds. I have these available for August or September (or a bit of both): Birds in Your Neighborhood (how to identify birds) Birds of the Pacific Northwest Hummingbirds Owls Corvids (crows, ravens, etc) Raptors: Birds of Prey (eagles, hawks, etc) I think it'd be fun to have a multigenerational Zoom class that is ND friendly. Pricing would be affordable and resources are included (because, I'm always a librarian). I want to learn about birds! Answer below:

Hangouts = free community connection
Hi, y'all. We've got 7 more weeks of summer left and I'm certain everyone is busy with all the things. I wanted to send a personal invitation and encouraging note to let you know about the Kaboose Hangouts on our Skool calendar. I lead these casual, camera-optional hangouts that focus on self-care for neurodivergent folks and give all participants a weekly grounding to touch base, ask for tips, share stories and laugh. We always laugh. My Monday Hangouts will continue through Labour Day at 4:30pm PT. I hope you'll pop by while these are happening. It's really a special time in my week, too. You can find the link to grab a free ticket in our calendar. 🥰 Jenine

How's your summer going?
Hi, folks! I hope you are all enjoying the summertime so far! It's a tough time for me as I struggle with the heat, light, and busyness around town, but I take refuge in cool early mornings and Zoom connection with peeps. I also play Minecraft with my brother who lives in another country so that's fun. As a librarian, I'm always keen to talk books and audiobooks so be sure to share your recommendations here! (Free personalized book recommendations available anytime!) I also watch a lot more documentaries, films and British TV during the summer. Here are some stories I've enjoyed so far this summer: Pushing Daisies TV show recently added to Prime Canada Patience TV show via PBS subscription on Prime The Sheep Detectives movie Project Hail Mary movie recently added to Prime Canada Rivals TV show on Hulu Friends of Dorothy audiobook by Sandi Toksvig The Power of Strangers audiobook by Joe Kohoene Terrible Maps book by Michael Howe Self-care for People with ADHD book by Sasha Hamdani The Genius of Trees audiobook by Harriet Rix The Story of Stories audiobook by Kevin Ashton The Exceptions audiobook by Kate Zernike All the Words We Know audiobook by Bruce Nash What it's Like to be a Bird audiobook by David Allen Sibley True Color audiobook by Kory Stamper Stay cool. 😎 Jenine
