The Cost of Dreaming
Sometimes as outsiders we think, look how easy or fast they got there, but until you know the full story you will never really know the efforts of a dreamer. There are many battles hidden behind accomplishments but most times we only look at the reward. This is not wrong or bad; it is actually natural and takes some unlearning to not compare yourself to others. The next time you see someone living out their dream, I ask you to ask three questions. 1) How many people did they lose in the process? 2) How many pieces of themselves are they still carving, missing, and aligning? 3) What are the steps that got them to where they are at and what information is transferable to me? In thinking these questions, imagine you did not know the answer. How would you go about it? Well, there is an answer and only one answer, embrace failure. Dreaming is not linear just like other feelings or emotions. What I suggest is that we lock in. That every day for the next few weeks we take one moment to work on our dream. This can be just adding something to our to do list or doing one thing on our to do list whether that is researching, contacting, saving, or planning. Be grateful for sleepless nights because there will come a day when your dream lives beyond you, your legacy lives beyond you, and your story lives beyond your people. So with that I leave you with my last question. 4) What are you willing to give up for your dreams?

My Why
I wanted to start this group after falling apart and having to rebuild myself again. During those trying times where I was actually redefining my life with new symptoms, I started to notice those who loved me not have patience with my healing journey. Many didn’t understand it and others were sick of waiting. None of this felt good. What felt good was finding a therapist that helped me gain my life back and give me practical skills to honor the life I was trying to live. But I cannot lie, it is sooo difficult to pick yourself up when you feel like you are missing pieces and no one understands. So I built this group to build a community of people who can set their goals and for us to have check ins and advice. With this being a sacred group, I have some rules to respect that. Rules 1) Speak in kindness. No one needs a nice person that says yes to everything, but we do need kindness to share and connect. No dream is too big, too small, too far, or too weird. 2) Be honest. No one can truly help you if you are not fully honest about where you are at and the plan you are thinking of to get to the next level. 3) Come to share ideas, love, and encouragement. We are all trying to make a dream happen with a set of different cards. With that being said, welcome to The Living Room. A recovery room for caterpillars who need accountability to become butterflies. Grow here. Bloom everywhere. If you are someone wanting to make your dreams come true and need another community of dreamers please join us.
