Before I was struggling with: Trying to do everything myself. As a mom of 4 (including 1 with special needs), Nervous System Coach, and Founder of Whole by Design, I left my long corporate career to scale my business. But I was stuck in over-functioning — holding everything, micro-managing, and burning out. I was doing, not leading. My biggest breakthrough from the Pilot Launch was: DAY 2, Session 4 - Delegation & Empowerment. This slide intrigued me more than any other. I realized I was the bottleneck. Moving from DOING → LEADING is my next level. I don't need to carry it all — I need to empower others effectively, build capability and ownership, and scale my impact without burning out. The biggest thing this experience helped me with was: Clarity that true leadership is not about doing more, but empowering more. A Powerful Reminder of What Leadership Truly Means Attending this three-day training was truly an eye-opener! One of my biggest takeaways was the reminder that leadership is about humanity. Sometimes, as leaders, we become so focused on business operations, targets, and results that we forget one of the most important elements that keeps the business running: people. We work with human beings, each with their own experiences, challenges, emotions, and aspirations. While achieving business objectives is important, building genuine human connections with our teams is just as essential. Sometimes, something as simple as asking, “How are you?” or “How was your weekend?” can go a looong way! These small gestures may seem insignificant, but they can make people feel seen, valued, and appreciated. When people feel that their leaders genuinely care about them, it creates an environment where trust grows, relationships strengthen, and people are more motivated to give their best. Another important lesson I took away was the power of delegation and trust. As leaders, we sometimes fall into the trap of wanting to do everything ourselves because we believe it is the quickest or best way to get things done. However, effective leadership is not about doing everything alone; it is about empowering others, trusting your team, and creating opportunities for them to grow and succeed. I have learned that I need to be intentional about delegating responsibilities, giving my team the opportunity to take ownership, and trusting them to deliver to the best of their abilities. This training reminded me that leadership is not just about the position you hold or the results you achieve; it is about the people you lead, the relationships you build, and the environment you create for others to thrive. I am leaving this training with a renewed perspective, valuable lessons, and a commitment to becoming a more intentional, people-centred leader. A great reminder that behind every successful business are people, and when we lead with humanity, trust, and purpose, we create the foundation for success.
