Welcome to The Joy Collective
Peace. I’m so glad you’re here. If you found your way to this space, I’m guessing you’re tired. Not just “I need a nap” tired — but soul-tired. The kind of tired that comes from holding everything together, being strong for everyone else, and losing yourself somewhere along the way. Maybe you don’t even know who you are anymore outside of what you do for other people. Maybe you have good friends, but there are things you can’t say out loud not to them, not to anyone really. Maybe you’re carrying trauma, burnout, or the weight of being overlooked again while everyone pretends not to notice. You’re not imagining it. And you’re not alone. The Joy Collective is a space for Black women who are done performing, done shrinking, and ready to come home to themselves. This isn’t about adding more to your plate. It’s not about being more productive or figuring out how to do it all better. This is about rest. Healing. Liberation. And reclaiming a life that actually feels like yours. Inside this community, you’ll find: ✨ Resources to help you release the “strong Black woman” script, understand your nervous system, and unlearn people-pleasing✨ Reflection tools to reconnect with who you are beneath all the roles you play✨ A sisterhood of women who get it — because they’re living it too✨ Permission to rest, to feel, to want something different, and to build it You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to show up. Start here: 1. Head to The Homecoming Circle and introduce yourself — we want to know you 2. Explore the modules in the Classroom and take what you need 3. Show up in the community threads when you’re ready — your voice matters here This space is yours. You belong here. And I’m honored to walk this path with you. Welcome home. — Lisa

Welcome to The Joy Collective
You’ve Been Running on Empty for Years. This Week, We Stop.
Hey! Hey! 45 Days of Joy starts today. We are on Day 3 and it’s the first Humpday. To be clear, this is not 45 days of fixing yourself. Not 45 days of optimizing. 45 days of remembering that joy is allowed, on purpose, without earning it first. This week, we rest. Not the collapse-at-the-end-of-the-day kind of rest. The kind you choose before you’re depleted. This week’s invitations: • Rest without earning it first • Take time to notice whose voice tells you rest has to be earned • Take the nap, guilt-free • Practice a no that doesn’t need an explanation • Do less, on purpose, for one full day Drop into the Reclamation Room for the daily prompt and this week’s live touchpoint, where we’ll talk about what came up when you actually let yourself rest. Because Black joy isn’t frivolous. It’s healing. It’s resistance. It’s restoration.

45 Days of Joy
Yesterday we started a celebration of joy. 45 Days of Joy is our invitation to stop surviving and start savoring.Together, we’ll spend 45 days reclaiming joy in ways big and small, from rest and laughter to boundaries, connection, creativity, and simply feeling like ourselves again. Because Black joy isn’t frivolous. It’s healing. It’s resistance. It’s restoration.

The Office Is Empty
When I worked for the state, it came to a point where I cleared my entire office out. The only thing left on my desk was a picture of my boys. I mean I had added curtains and wallpaper and froo-from decor everywhere. And then one day… I took everything down. Are you working in a space that feels invalidating? Like, you bring up ideas and questions and they get ignored and then a week later, someone else brings them up and it’s like “the best idea” ever? This is an all you common event for Black women. You are not alone. This is what invisibility looks like. It’s the reason, why one day I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. And I planned my exit. I pulled back from volunteering and feeling the need to do everything. And I made a decision. Am I the only one?
