Welcome to The Joy Collective
Peace. I’m so glad you’re here. If you found your way to this space, I’m guessing you’re tired. Not just “I need a nap” tired — but soul-tired. The kind of tired that comes from holding everything together, being strong for everyone else, and losing yourself somewhere along the way. Maybe you don’t even know who you are anymore outside of what you do for other people. Maybe you have good friends, but there are things you can’t say out loud not to them, not to anyone really. Maybe you’re carrying trauma, burnout, or the weight of being overlooked again while everyone pretends not to notice. You’re not imagining it. And you’re not alone. The Joy Collective is a space for Black women who are done performing, done shrinking, and ready to come home to themselves. This isn’t about adding more to your plate. It’s not about being more productive or figuring out how to do it all better. This is about rest. Healing. Liberation. And reclaiming a life that actually feels like yours. Inside this community, you’ll find: ✨ Resources to help you release the “strong Black woman” script, understand your nervous system, and unlearn people-pleasing✨ Reflection tools to reconnect with who you are beneath all the roles you play✨ A sisterhood of women who get it — because they’re living it too✨ Permission to rest, to feel, to want something different, and to build it You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to show up. Start here: 1. Head to The Homecoming Circle and introduce yourself — we want to know you 2. Explore the modules in the Classroom and take what you need 3. Show up in the community threads when you’re ready — your voice matters here This space is yours. You belong here. And I’m honored to walk this path with you. Welcome home. — Lisa

Questions to Ponder from Rock My Soul
I like to leave us with questions to consider and journal from our reading. Here are 3 questions to consider and personally reflect on. Next Saturday we are reading Chapters 3, 4 and 5. - When you make a mistake, do you feel guilt about what you did or shame about who you are? - Who in your life has denied or minimized your experience, and how did that shape what you believed you deserved from love? - Have you ever found yourself dismissing another Black woman's pain because it felt too close to your own?
Book Club
Last week in book club we had a good talk around the chapter. Not everyone who joined had a chance to read but the discussion was rich. I am excited to be with you today. Bring your tea or coffee while we sip and chat. But also we might get a little deep into how these things affect the lives of Black folks. bell hooks makes it very challenging not to do that. If you need the link it’s inside the Skool Community under the BOOK CLUB tab. The zoom link is also there. I have also placed the link below. See you at 12 central/ 1 eastern.
