You may not have a lead problem. You may have a process problem.
A lot of dealers think they need more leads when sales slow down. But before you spend more money on advertising, there’s a better question: Where are you losing the leads you already have? Quick win for you: Look at your sales process from start to finish: Lead → Contact → Appointment → Show → Sold If 100 leads come in, how many make it through each step? That’s exactly what we covered in my recent webinar, Why Your Leads Aren’t Converting. We break down how to find where prospects are dropping out, whether it’s response time, follow-up, appointments, show rate, or closing. I’ve added the full webinar to the Classroom here in the community. If you’re getting leads but not getting the sales you think you should be getting, go watch it. Then come back here and tell me: Where do you think your biggest drop-off is right now?
You Don't Have A Leads Problem, You Have A "Where Did They Go" Problem
I put something in the Classroom tab today that I wish I had in my first year in the car business. Imagine watching a football game with no scoreboard. You can see the plays. You just can't tell who's winning or how far behind your team is. That's how most independent stores run their sales process. Busy every day. Cars going out the door. No idea where the leads are dying. The Sales Leak Scorecard fixes that. I put it inside the Classroom Tab under "Resources". Six numbers a week. That's all you type. It scores every stage of your process, gives you one Sales Health Score, tells you in plain words where the biggest leak is, and hands you one thing to work on this week. Go to the Classroom tab, grab it, and put last week's numbers in. Takes five minutes. You can't fix a leak you can't see.

Welcome!
Welcome to The Independent Dealer Network! 🚗 You guys are officially the first members of this community. I created this because I believe some of the best knowledge in the car business comes from other dealers who have already dealt with the same problems you're dealing with. My goal is simple: Create a place where independent and BHPH dealers can connect, learn, share what's working, solve problems, and help each other build better dealerships. We'll talk sales, collections, cash flow, inventory, operations, AI, systems and whatever else helps us run better businesses. So help me build this into something useful. Drop a comment below and tell us: 1. Your name and dealership 2. Where you're located 3. How long you've been in the car business 4. BHPH, retail, or both 5. What's ONE thing you'd love to get better at or solve in your dealership right now? Don't overthink it. A few sentences is plenty. I'm excited to see what we can build together. Connect. Learn. Share. Grow. Win.
