For seven years, God carried a revelation inside of me called "Root Cause Analysis." Since then, it has evolved. Then a yard project changed everything. My husband and I decided to cut down four trees on our property - two in the front yard, two on the side of the house. What looked like a simple landscaping decision became one of the most profound deliverance revelations God has ever walked me through. The two trees in our front yard had been there for eighteen years. They grew tall, mature, and strong. That larger tree gave shade to the Hostas in our flower bed - plants that thrive in shaded places. In that season, the tree served a real purpose. It protected what grew beneath it. But while the tree gave shade, the grass around it struggled to grow. Weeds kept returning. The roots had taken over so much ground that the lawn could not flourish the way we envisioned. God spoke immediately: some things in our lives served a real purpose in one season. They gave us shade. They protected us. They helped us survive. But when they remain too long, they begin to block what God wants to grow next. Some patterns protected us before they imprisoned us. Some coping mechanisms shaded us before they stunted us. Proverbs 4:23 says to keep the heart with all diligence because the issues of life flow from it. Every issue above the surface traces back to a root growing beneath it. You pray about the fruit. There comes a point in spiritual warfare where clarity replaces confusion. This is that point. We are not called to fight people. We are called to break the agreement with what is operating behind them. And sometimes…the hardest agreements to break are the ones disguised as love When love becomes binding… when loyalty becomes entrapment… when your spirit knows it’s not right, But your soul won’t let go. That is not just emotion. That is an agreement. And the watchman does not ignore it. The watchman discerns it. The watchman confronts it in the spirit. The watchman breaks it. This is your posture: Not reactive. Not emotional. But aligned, aware, and authoritative. Break the agreement, and watch the pattern lose its power. A called watchman accepts kingdom assignments that are inconvenient and disrupts your plan. There is a weight to what we are stepping into, and it is necessary. We are not just praying casually. We are assembling in the Spirit, coming from different places, different experiences, and different burdens, and we are coming into this assignment in one way. And just like any other way where many are walking, we may experience some tight places. We may experience places where we feel close, aligned, and understanding each other, but we are not quite sure how it is all going to work out. But we do know this: God is in this assembly. “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” Psalm 133:1 (KJV) Unity does not mean we are all going to look alike and act alike. Unity does not mean we are going to move alike. Unity means we are willing to move in one Spirit, even as we find our way and get our rhythm. And we also need to know that where there is unity, resistance will rise. But we are not talking about people. We are talking about the enemy. We are talking about misunderstandings, tension, and rising pressure, but we are also aware of how the enemy works. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) What we’re entering is not without spiritual significance. And with that comes spiritual warfare, but also spiritual authority.
