Before mindfulness apps, guided meditations, and “take a deep breath” reminders…
We had the backseat of a car, no phone, no tablet, no Wi-Fi, and nothing but the highway, our thoughts, and a Capri Sun fighting for its life in the cooler. 😂
Our version of peace was staring out the window for four hours, pretending we were in a music video while our parents played the same cassette tape over and over.
And somehow… we survived. No entertainment. No charger. No snacks unless somebody packed them. Just vibes, daydreams, and that one sibling touching your side of the seat. Gen X was built different. We didn’t call it mindfulness.
We called it: “Don’t ask me if we’re there yet again.” 😭
