We regularly take our 22-month-old to restaurants and have done since he was a baby!
My husband and I are both aligned on no screens at mealtimes, and we’ve found that dining out with a toddler can work really well when you plan around their needs.
Our top tips:
⏱️ Don’t expect them to stay out dining for hours.
🥝 Bring a snack (our son is a foodie!) to keep them going while waiting for food.
👨🍳 Check the menu in advance and plan what they’ll eat.
📚Take a book or small toy and bring it out only when needed to keep them engaged.
🗣️Talk to them and actively engage to hold their attention.
With a little preparation and realistic expectations, eating out as a family can be enjoyable for everyone. 🤍
