In Jesus’ prayer in John chapter 17, Jesus isn’t speaking casually, His prayer is specific. He is interceding for us as our High Priest. When He says, “Holy Father, keep them… keep them from the evil one” (John 17:11,15), He is placing believers inside of His divine custody. That means our protection is not based on how we feel, what we see, or even the intensity of the attack, it is rooted in the authority of the One who prayed. Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever.
Yes, the enemy is angry with but so what. Scripture never hides the face we have an adversary. But anger does not equal access. The fact that you belong to Jesus Christ means there is a boundary the enemy cannot cross without permission. We have entered the safety zone. What Jesus prayed still stands. His words did not expire after the moment, and they still continue to speak. This is why the enemy fights your mind, your confidence, and your identity because if he can’t remove you from God’s hand, he will try to make you forget you’re in it. Hallelujah! You’re in the Efficacious, Powerful, Sustaining, Keeping, Protective, Delivering Hand of the Almighty God!
So, the saints must stand anchored in this truth: you are not just hoping to be protected you are already covered. The promise is already yours! Your life is wrapped in a prayer spoken by Jesus Christ and recorded for our benefit to understand WE WILL NOT FAIL BECAUSE JESUS NEVER FAILS! When fear rises, answer it with what Jesus already said. When opposition increases, remember you are being kept, not by your own strength, but by the faithfulness of God. You are in covenant with God and He will not disappoint you! Prepare for the overflow! And those that were in service tonight "It's Already Done"!
