Thankful Thursday! ~ I'm in the Right Position
2 Kings 2:9-10 King James Version
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. 10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
The greatest battles in your life will not always be against devils; they will often be against distractions we choose to entertain with our attention. Elijah did not tell Elisha to pray harder, fast longer, or prove himself more. He simply said, “If you see me when I am taken...” The promise was connected to his position. The enemy understands that he cannot stop what God has ordained, so he will assign voices, relationships, offenses, opportunities, and unnecessary battles to pull your focus away from the very moment your mantle is about to fall. Every city they entered someone tried to interrupt Elisha’s pursuit. Even the sons of the prophets questioned him, hoping to shift his attention. Yet Elisha made a holy decision that no distraction would become greater than his destiny. There comes a season when your greatest act of faith is simply refusing to leave your position.
The right position always demands three things: decision, discernment, and discipline. Decision gives you the courage to leave behind what is familiar. Discernment enables you to recognize who has been sent by God and who has been assigned to delay your assignment. Discipline keeps your feet planted when everything around you urge you to quit, compromise, or become distracted. Every mantle has a moment, and every moment has a position. What God has released over your life will require more than just a desire on your part; it will require your unwavering commitment to remain where His presence has placed you. The promise is not simply for those who just ask disconnected from faith; it is for those who choose to stay.
Today the Spirit of the Lord declares, “You are in the right position.” Do not become discouraged because the journey has been long or because others have fallen away. Heaven has been watching your consistency. Every tear, every sacrifice, every closed door, and every act of obedience has been positioning you for divine transfer. Stay focused. Stay submitted. Stay watchful. The mantle of the next season will not fall on the distracted saints, it will fall on the disciplined. What God has prepared for you is worth every sacrifice required to remain in position. Do not move until Heaven moves, because when God’s appointed moment arrives. Which is NOW, those who have remained faithful and in the right position will receive what no man can manufacture and no enemy can steal. You are positioned for your portion!
