RE-SHAPED
There was someone in my life that I had resentment with. This person, over the years, sent me messages upon messages. I blocked many many calls and social media profiles. One day, God was working on me and showed me what I was holding onto and He taught me something.
This last time, when this person sent me a new message, I responded and I told him I forgave him. Not only did he need me to forgive him, I didn't realize I thought if I forgave him that would mean that I would be in the position to remain in contact with him. I was taught that I had to forgive but never truly understood about boundaries. So I held onto the resentment and anger and used what had happened as my reason (blame) to block him and create that type of unhealthy boundary. This time I was able to forgive him and let him go and walk away with discernment and boundaries that kept me in peace. It was very liberating.
Reshaping can only happen if we are pliable. The clay was damaged or misshapen, but the important thing to remember, the clay was still soft so the potter was able to reshape or reform the clay, into "again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it."
God cannot reshape us if we are holding onto old habits or resentments lingering in the background. In order for us to be reshaped for greater impact, everything of old must be demolished. If we are holding onto anything, it causes our hearts to be hardened and un-pliable. Unable to be reshaped or reformed.
This work will only work as I surrender to God for Him to mold me into who He intended for me to become AND submit my will to the process. It's not always going to be "look at what someone did to me." It will also be, "look at what you're doing or have done."
