Hello from Illinois!
I thought maybe I would introduce myself a little more as the tag line on my portfolio says "Old and jaded but not without hope" Which is true, but.... 😉. I am a 73 year old gal from the Midwest (Illinois) I was married nearly 40 years, raised a family, and then widowed less than 2 years ago. I find myself in the position of having to reinvent myself (yet again) in order to create a form of livelihood as trying to get by on just Social Security is not cutting it. Never thought I'd be doing that at this stage of the game but unfortunately, my husband was ill for several years and he had no medical insurance and he was several years younger than me, so he also did not have Medicare. So we went through most of our resources. Which brings me to the present and the need for reinvention and starting over with something (Retirement is overrated anyway, right?). 😆 The options for someone my age are few. But through hours of aimlessly browsing the internet in my grief, I stumbled across this thing called UGC and then affiliate marketing and digital products and the like. So I set about learning as much as I could and getting comfortable in front of a camera and all the stuff. When I found Rebecca's account and learned about this course and the potential OTHER possibilities in this realm that she talks about, I was very intrigued. So here I am, leaning into it and glad to be here! Fun fact about me: I once lived above the Arctic Circle for a few months. It was the colder months so the sun came up just a little above the horizon at about 11:30 AM and went down at 1 PM. Not for me!
