The Du and the Dura
In Daoist medicine, the Governor Vessel (Du Mai) governs ascent, clarity, and the return to original alignment. In craniosacral anatomy, the dura mater forms a continuous inner sheath through which this same vertical intelligence is expressed. The Du and the Dura explores the intimate relationship between the Governor Vessel (Du Mai) of Chinese medicine and the cranial and spinal dura mater as a continuous anatomical, energetic, and perceptual midline.

Dongzhen Philosophy
Dongzhen Philosophy
Drawing on the Daoist principle of Dongzhen—the return to the True or Original—we examine how the heart field can be understood as a primary organizing coherence that precedes and informs form. Through the lens of the chakra system, this coherence is experienced as a vertical continuum of consciousness, while in craniosacral work it is perceived as Primary Respiration expressing itself through the membranes, fluids, and midline of the body.
