The Taj Mahal
Behind my parents’ house is this big shelter house/patio type thing that we all call the Taj Mahal. It cost more than they had originally intended to build, so it’s become quite the joke through the years. After my mom passed away, my dad started making it a random storage space instead of a patio/entertainment space. It got WAY out of control and he didn’t love the chaos, so we started working on it yesterday and the girls made big progress. The first picture is the “during” photo…and the second one is the “before”! In less than 7 hours, it feels like we can breathe when we walk out there now! It should be finished up today and then we’ll move onto the next space! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

The Great Clean Out Begins
Most of you know that my mom was quite the collector…and in the three years she has been gone, not much has changed in or around her house. My dad is ready to part with a bunch of stuff and Claire’s goal is to host her graduation party here next spring! Today, Claire started working on a manageable project - the outdoor shed with pool supplies, outdoor games, etc. It was ABSOLUTELY packed full, but she and a friend finished! First summer project at Grampy’s ✅ She feels like this will be motivating for her to continue the journey of helping my dad dig out from under the grief-filled house filled with my mom’s stuff! ❤️‍🩹

Finishing Projects
Mr. Farmhouse and the girls finished building and putting up the flagpole last night! I cannot believe the progress we have made focusing on small daily steps to completing larger projects. Today after church, we are headed to our other farm that we inherited from Matthew’s grandparents. We are going to do an inventory of projects that need to be done out and go through the same process of prioritizing them and getting some work days on the calendar for “the Spruce farm” as we call it. Happy Sunday, friends!

To Do Today
I took the day off of work! It’s my girls’ last day of school, so I’m staying home to get a few things done around the house! I’m going to do a quick pickup, meal prep for the rest of the week & weekend, and get laundry caught up from the college kid coming home! I need to sprinkle in a few school things, but I think it’s very doable! What do you guys have going on today??? ❤️
