Amway
Our new member Daniel asked about Amway, if they are legitimate. Here are my thoughts.
Amway seems to carry legitimate products that have a good reputation for quality. My issue is the business model, formatted as an MLM. For those unfamiliar the MLM structure is layers and each layer is financially motivated to build a lower layer, that consequently makes less money from the sale, or none of they don't hit goals. The MLM structure has some winners and many losers, and when we boil it all down, the markup rate to keep that process going makes the prices to consumer unnaturally high.
One of the most sought after product lines from Amway is their supplements, for quality and testing. I have researched other companies with similar standards and quality, without supporting the MLM business format and lower cost to consumer. "Thorne Research", "Pure Encapsulations" have high standard testing and certifications as well. I would do my research on high quality brands that focus on minimal processing, Ingredient quality standards, and transparency. Educate yourself about MLMs like Amway & Melaleuca, determine whether you are comfortable with their business format.
