The Different Views of Leadership
When we describe leadership, there are different views that we can look at it. For the next couple of weeks, we will discuss some of the different types of leaders. This will give you an opportunity to reflect on yourself as a leader.
TRAIT LEADERSHIP: A person that is viewed as having a "the: gift or natural talent to lead. They may be seen as the perfect height, having intelligence, have an extraverted personality, fluency and able to inluence followers.
PROCESS LEADERSHIP: Interaction with their follower. This leadership quality of interaction with followers can also be one that emergerges into leadership. They many not be assigned as a leader, but they are someone who emerges as a leader by being verbally involved, being informed, seekin others' opinions, initiating new ideas and being firm but not rigid (Ellis & Fisher, 1994).
As you can see that Trait leadership gives the perspective that certain people are born to lead, if they have certain traits, Process Leadership viewpoint suggest that leadrship is a phenomenon that resides in the context of the interactions between leaders and followers.
