Feeling overwhelmed? Read below 👇
When I speak to people and they ask me how I got to where I am, it’s easy to say just work hard but it’s more complicated than that.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you have a goal but don’t know where to start. I certainly felt frustrated, overwhelmed and stressed when it feels such a big gap between where you are and want to get to. So here’s a few tips:
#1️⃣ - Acknowledge how far you’ve come
It’s easy to look ahead without remembering what you’ve achieved so far. You’ve got evidence that you’re capable of doing great things!
#2️⃣ - Reach out
Speaking to people who’ve walked where you want to go is a great way to gain perspective and insight. Networking might sound very professional but see it as having a casual conversation to lower the bar. People are more willing to help than you realise!
#3️⃣ - Consistency
Big goals require lots of time to come to fruition. It took me 10 months of job searching before I found the role I landed at McLaren. Then 7 months of applying to F1 roles before I received the offer. Being consistent is key and not giving up on your dream!
