For those who were with us live, thank you. For those who missed it and have been waiting on the recap — here it is.
We spent an hour talking about the ADHD brain at home. Not theory — the real stuff. The after-school crash and why it is neurological, not behavioral. The homework activation barrier and what actually lowers it. The meltdown response guide. The five home truths about the ADHD brain that change everything about how you parent.
Here are the three things I want every member to carry from Monday night:
First, when your child falls apart the moment they get home, it is because home is the one place they feel safe enough to fall apart. That is not failure. That is trust.
Second, regulation has to come before compliance. You cannot reason with a dysregulated brain. Connection first. Instruction after.
Third, the long game is not raising a compliant child. It is raising a self-aware adult who understands their own brain. Every moment of understanding you build now is an investment in who they will become.
The replay is posted below. And this Friday, I have a free practical toolkit dropping in the community: Morning, After-School, Homework, and Meltdown checklists all in one resource.
Watch for it. Questions from Monday that I did not get to will be answered in the Ask Dr. KC thread this week. Drop them below. Dr. KC
