Use Music To Remember
When I go on a trip, or I'm in a tough season, or making a life transition, I will pick a song to play on repeat during that time. Then, in the future, when I listen to that song again, I can remember the trip/season so much more clearly. This helps me process emotions and experiences as well, both good and bad.
I recently attended the Black Sheep Club retreat with and 10 other amazing men. I played a song on repeat during my time in Florida that I just happened to hear for the first time on the first day of my trip. Funny enough, it was the actual band playing live which made it pretty impactful. It has established a greater posture of gratitude in my life. I'm sure some of you have heard it but for me it has a timestamp on my life now that I'm very thankful for.
I have a whole list of songs I can listen to that bring back significant times of my life.
I just wanted to share this with you all, because I think it is different but powerful, and you might want to try it for a season you are going through or a trip that you go on. I'd love to hear your feedback!
