It’s a stressful time of year, so I thought we could do a stress-busting challenge in the community, to the acronym MEDS.
Mindfulness / Exercise & Movement / Diet / Sleep
This week is the ‘M”
Mindfulness is being fully present and aware of what’s happening right now — your thoughts, feelings, body, and surroundings — without judgment or distraction.
It is one of the best ways to deal with stress.
You can practice it by:
✅Deep breathing – my favorite is conscious breathing.
Breathe in through your nose for 4, hold for 4, breathe out through your mouth for 4, hold for 4. Do it at least 3 times.
✅Set reminders on your phone to pause and be mindful.
✅Yoga or tai chi.
✅Walking in nature and focusing on the here and now.
