I’m Celeste, and I’ve been gardening for a few decades now, including 8 years at my current home in Northwest Indiana. Experience has taught me that you don’t need a lot of space or fancy equipment to raise nutritious food at home. Join our community and let’s get growing together!
In gardening, location matters. In zone 5 or 6 in the Midwestern US, Ontario CN, or even the Eastern US, we’re facing similar weather conditions and pest pressures: freezing winters, chaotic springs, hot and humid summers, and the detested squash vine borer! And, if you’re a neighbor in zones 7a or 4b, your experiences are similar, though the timing will be different.
But our advice may not be best for gardens in other areas. Even where our "zones" are the same, the problems and solutions often differ.
