A Love Affair with Melted Butter
Liquid gold slithering across puffs of kernels
sliding effortlessly like an eel through waters
I feel the heat as I breathe your aroma
I'm bland without you
I pour out your golden goodness
your smooth satisfaction
your sleek seductiveness glides across my pancakes and toast
and I wait as the coffee roast
I even pour you like a fountain of gold
and watch you dance like a ballerina
flowing
twisting
gliding across my mountain of mashed potatoes
I'll let you have your way
then the gravy
sometimes you lay lavishly across the peaks
then pace yourself
as you run down like a marathoner
You know I want you
finally I indulge myself in your creamy goodness
devouring cakes and pies
you're right there inside
Yes, it's my liquid sunlight
your smoothness
your brightness
I need you
I want you
with you in my world
everything taste just right
