Notice the sentence you repeat when money appears. That sentence may be an inheritance, not a truth.
We all have an inner dialogue that shows up when money enters the conversation.
“I can’t afford that.”
“I’ll never get ahead.”
“Money always disappears.”
“People like me don’t become wealthy.”
These thoughts can feel so familiar that we mistake them for facts. But often they’re echoes—messages picked up from childhood, family, culture, or difficult experiences.
The first thought that appears isn’t always the belief you have to keep. Awareness gives you the opportunity to choose a different response.
Reflection
What is the sentence that comes to mind most often when I think about money?
Where did I first learn it?
Today’s Practice
The next time you notice a recurring thought about money, pause before accepting it.
Ask yourself:
“Is this something I know to be true, or is this a story I’ve repeated for so long that it feels true?”
Write down one new sentence that better reflects the relationship with money you’re choosing to build.
Affirmation
I notice my thoughts without being ruled by them.
I have permission to question inherited beliefs.
I choose money stories that are grounded in wisdom, possibility, and truth.
Community Reflection
