Notice your pace. Notice where you rush even if nothing requires you to rush. Sometimes urgency becomes a habit. We move quickly because there is always something else to do, somewhere else to be, or something we believe we should already have figured out.
After a while, moving fast can start to feel normal—even when nothing is actually asking us to hurry.
But not every moment requires speed. Sometimes slowing down gives you enough space to notice what you actually need, what you actually feel, and whether the pace you’re moving at still belongs to you.
You do not have to treat every moment like an emergency. And slowing down doesn’t mean you’re falling behind.
Sometimes it means you’re finally present enough to notice where you’re going. Today, simply notice your pace.
Not to judge it. Just to become aware of it.
Reflection
Where do I tend to rush even when nothing requires me to?
What might I notice if I gave myself permission to move a little more intentionally?
Today’s Practice
Pause at three different points today. Take one breath before moving into the next thing. Ask yourself:
“Is there actually a reason I need to rush right now?”
If the answer is no, allow yourself to move at a pace that feels more intentional. You don’t have to slow down everything. Just notice where speed has become automatic.
Affirmation
I am allowed to move with intention instead of urgency.
I do not have to rush simply because I can.
I give myself permission to be present in the pace of my life.
