What’s is passion??
The word passion comes from the Latin:
passiō
meaning “suffering, enduring, undergoing”
Which itself comes from the Latin verb:
patī
meaning “to suffer,” “to endure,” or “to bear”
This is why historically passion was not about excitement or pleasure, it was about what one is willing to suffer for.
Only in modern usage did passion evolve to mean:
  • Intense emotion
  • Desire
  • Drive
But the original meaning remains encoded:
True passion is what you’re willing to endure pain, sacrifice, and discipline for.
What’s your passion??
