Yo guys
If getting a copywriting client feels like pushing a car uphills, this post is def for you.
I will be honest af
I got my first copywriting in client in 2 weeks after starting copywriting.
The guy was in real estate and needed some great copy.
I reached out to him - using the most generic cold dm that looked like this:
"Hey name
I went over your business and found out something that could potentially make you more money, would you be open to hearing it?"
And we hoped on a call and I closed him.
I was excited,
Flexing on discord communities
Praising how I got a client in my first days.
Guys who had been doing this for 6 months were asking me for feedback.
But...... What was the secret?
You won't believe but "LUCK"
Sometimes you get lucky
and it's true, but rare.
I was an absolute beginner who didn't know what was welcome email sequence
still managed to get a client.
However, here's the other side of the story.
The dude fired me - cause I sucked at writing.
And for the last 1,4 years I was clientless.
I hoped on a few calls
Had some interested prospects
But no money in my pocket
Still broke - still hopefull
I was sending 20dms a day - hoping that somene would say yes
but ended up having prospects blocking me or saying: "Please, don't pitch me"
I stopped believing in luck anymore.
Created an email outreach system
Started targeting more qualified prospect
Showed up every day to send loom videos where i was talking like an expert
Then booked a call - boom - client closed
A fucking whale
+175K followers, 6 figures a month - 9 (or 16) years in business
Then I realized
Effore = Luck
The more you put in
The more you get out
Hope you enjoyed
and if you have any questions related to my journey (of course i lacked motivation, discipline, lost hope sometimes and procrastinated - if you're going through this I will help you), copywriting or outreach
Comment and I will answer them
