Hey friends,
I require all my students to go through a small account phase. Why? Because it builds discipline.
When you have a larger account, trading becomes somewhat easier—you have more capital to withstand drawdowns, assuming you’ve already developed discipline.
However, the small account phase forces you to be patient and disciplined with your setups and risk management. It teaches you to execute with precision because every trade matters.
Before scaling up, it’s crucial to fully understand the strategy you're learning. Study it, practice it, and trade with small capital while executing flawlessly for at least 3-4 months—ideally longer.
A common problem I see with many traders is a lack of discipline and consistency. They abandon strategies after just 3-4 losing trades, assuming they don’t work. The reality? The problem isn’t the strategy—it’s you.
Take a look at the image below. The account shows 3 wins and 5 losses—a win rate below 40%—yet it's still profitable for the month.
Bravo to the TGE Max member who executed with discipline!
