Hello everyone, and welcome to our new community! I created Team Down Syndrome as a supportive and encouraging space for parents, carers and families raising a baby, child or young person with Down syndrome. As a parent myself, I understand that this journey can bring incredible joy, proud milestones, difficult questions, worries and challenges. Sometimes we need practical information, and sometimes we simply need to speak with people who understand. This community will be a place to share experiences, ask questions, celebrate achievements and learn together. We will explore topics including communication, health, education, SEND support, EHCPs, sleep, behaviour, nutrition, independence, family life and parent wellbeing. Please remember that every person with Down syndrome is unique, and every family’s experience is different. We will respect one another, listen without judgement and keep this community positive, safe and supportive. Please introduce yourself below.
